The Pioneer Research Group for Socially Responsible Artificial Intelligence (SRAI) at Sungkyunkwan University was established in 2024 with the support of the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) through the Distinguished Scholars Invitation Program. By inviting world-renowned scholars, SRAI actively promotes global collaborative research with the aim of advancing world-class expertise in the field of AI ethics.
Beyond conducting leading international research, SRAI is also committed to fostering a culture of interdisciplinary collaboration. In particular, we strive to create a vibrant platform for exchange between researchers in the humanities and social sciences and those in the natural sciences, thereby enabling a holistic exploration of the social responsibility and trustworthiness of artificial intelligence.
Working alongside distinguished scholars, our researchers engage in pioneering studies in AI ethics while gaining valuable mentorship and in-depth research experience. In addition, SRAI organizes regular domestic and international workshops to share cutting-edge findings and strengthen global networks across academia and industry.
Through these initiatives, SRAI aspires to establish itself as a key research hub dedicated to ensuring social trust in AI and promoting its responsible use worldwide.
