2024 Seminar on Responsible AI with Korean Experts

The Pioneer Research Group for Socially Responsible AI at Sungkyunkwan University successfully hosted the “Seminar on Responsible AI with Korean Experts” on November 8, 2024, at the Global R&E Lounge, Humanities and Social Sciences Campus, Sungkyunkwan University. Co-organized by the Center for Multimedia Intelligence and the Deepfake Research Center, the seminar brought together experts from government, industry, and academia to share insights on the ethics and social responsibilities of artificial intelligence (AI).
The event began with opening remarks by Professor Eunseok Ryu (Associate Director, Intelligent Multimedia Research Center), a congratulatory address by Jaehoon Jeong (Team Leader of Digital Global HRD Team, IITP), and a welcome message from Professor S. Shyam Sundar. The following presentations were delivered:
Professor Seongyong Baek (Hanyang University): Bias Issues in AI Models
Manager Soohyun Lim (SK Telecom): Responsible AI from a Service Perspective
Professor Sungjin Ahn (Sungkyunkwan University): Measuring and Improving AI Ethics
Attorney Soyoung Park (National Assembly Research Service): Trends in AI Regulation
The seminar concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Professor Hayeon Song (Sungkyunkwan University), where all speakers engaged in an in-depth exchange on AI ethics and responsibility.
This seminar served as a meaningful opportunity for the Pioneer Research Group to foster dialogue with domestic experts, strengthen collaboration, and advance discussions on Responsible AI in Korea.
